On August 11, 2025, the Lunenburg-Gilman Community Trust (LGCT) was represented at the 6th Annual Vermont Community Leadership Summit, hosted by the Vermont Council on Rural Development (VCRD). This annual gathering brings together local leaders, nonprofits, and community organizations from across the state to share ideas and strengthen Vermont’s rural communities through collaboration and innovation.

LGCT board member Tina Breault participated as a panelist in a session titled “Developing a Community Trust Organization,” moderated by Kaziah Haviland and featuring fellow panelists Stephanie Barret, Megan Grove, and Thayer Tomlinson. The panel explored strategies and lessons learned from forming new Community Trust Organizations across Vermont, highlighting their vital role in historic preservation, economic revitalization, and community building.

Tina shared insights from her hands-on experience during the early stages of developing the Lunenburg-Gilman Community Trust, offering a perspective on the challenges and successes of establishing a nonprofit dedicated to local revitalization. Her participation helped showcase how Lunenburg’s efforts are part of a broader statewide movement to empower small towns and preserve Vermont’s rural character.

LGCT is proud to have been represented at such an inspiring event and remains committed to fostering connections, sharing knowledge, and continuing its mission of strengthening the Lunenburg-Gilman community for generations to come.
