As part of Governor Scott's Capital For A Day in Essex County, State Representatives came to Lunenburg and Gilman on Wednesday, March 4 that included a tour of the former Gilman Middle School as part of the day's agenda. Lunenburg-Gilman Community Trust Board members conducted a tour of the school.
Alex Farrell, Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Development and Nate Formalarie, Deputy Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Development and PTV Nicole Gratton joined the board of LGCT along with Lunenburg Select Board members for the tour.
Gary Briggs, President of LGCT showed them the architect renderings of four housing units that would be created in the original part of the schoolhouse, saying, "This is what missing middle housing looks like in rural Vermont communities; using existing infrastructure to keep development in the village".
State Representatives held meetings and toured other locations in Gilman and Lunenburg throughout the day and we were very pleased to be part of this event.
